Lucy Sassoon

Beautiful piano and vocals. Real live music from an amazing performer.

Multi-talented Lucy Sassoon has it all. A professional singer & skilled pianist, Lucy is also an accomplished television presenter & voiceover artist.
Her sound has been likened to that of Diana Krall & Renee Geyer. Whether smooth jazz, gritty blues or pop, her musical interpretations are characterized by that distinctively smoky Sassoon style. Her repertoire ranges from Eva Cassidy to Jamie Cullum, Sting to Bacharach, Billie Holliday to Adele and U2 to Carole King, so unsurprisingly, Lucy Sassoon is in constant demand.
Stevie Wonder, Ella… & singing along ‘Linda Ronstadt style’ to her father’s pianistic renditions of jazz standards are Lucy’s warmest childhood musical memories, though she concedes Pat Metheny, Lyle Mayes, Sinatra, Diana Krall & Quincy Jones are amongst her greatest influences.

Also available with her band.

Lucy was born into a family of musicians, Lucy’s natural talent was apparent early on. By 12, she was an outstanding classical pianist & cellist, qualifying for a Royal Academy of Music scholarship by the age of 13. And yes, those regular family concerts had the Sassoon kids known as ‘ The Von Trapps’ – which was not exactly ‘cool’ by any 13 year old’s standards — but with hindsight must have offered a definite advantage!

From humble beginnings in Manchester, Lucy went on to complete her Bachelor of Music, majoring in piano at the University of London. This was soon followed by Lucy’s first foray into performing overseas in Hong Kong where she became a musical fixture on the elite corporate & exclusive hotel scene. In fact, during her first year backpacking in 1990’s Australia, Lucy realized what she missed most was… her grand piano.

In 2004, Lucy returned a third time to Australia. Within a year of performing at London’s prestigious Pizza on the Park & Camden’s Jazz Café, she had hit Sydney’s noted Winebanq, Soup Plus & Arthouse. Lucy went on to retain solo/duo/trio and 4-piece residencies at Australia’s most prestigious 5 Star hotels – including Sydney’s Park Hyatt, Intercontinental Hotel, the Sheraton on the Park, the Marriott, Stamford Plaza Double Bay and the Sofitel Wentworth. She was also flown to performances all over that vast country.

Lucy supported the Las Vegas Platters on their Australian Tour 2 years running and was the support act for the Drifters on their 2010 tour of Australia.

However, in the long-term her Antipodean paradise and home seemed too far removed so Lucy recently chose to return to her roots, settling back in the UK.

Lucy’s beautiful voice sets her apart from the average. Her sensitivity, warmth and engaging, intelligent manner coupled with the ability to read an audience enable her to create the perfect ambience. These qualities make for the perfect entertainer that she is.

Over the past 15 years I have worked all over the world, performing in Hong Kong, Sydney, London and the North West of England. I spent several years in Sydney, where I was a professional singer and pianist with residencies at most of their 5 star hotels ( including Australia’s most exclusive hotel, the Park Hyatt Sydney;) as well as the Intercontinental, The Marriot and the Sheraton. I also used to perform at the Sydney Opera House’s 5 star Dining Lounge as well.
